西南交通大学始建于1896年,曾先后定名为“山海关北洋铁路官学堂”、“唐山交通大学”、“唐山铁道学院”等,是中国近代建校最早的高等学府之一。学校是教育部直属的国家首批“211工程”重点建设高校和“985优势学科创新平台”重点建设高校。

当前,学校正大力实施人才强校主战略和国际化战略,为适应建设具有交通特色的多学科协调发展的高水平研究型大学的需要,现面向海内外公开招聘学院院长4名。公告如下:

一、招聘岗位

二、应聘条件

1.在学科领域具有重要的学术影响和较高的知名度。具有博士学位(有重大科技成果或重要学术成就者可放宽)、教授职务(或国外著名高校进入终身系列的副教授);

2.熟悉高等教育规律,了解国内外高等教育情况,有较丰富的管理经验和较好的组织协调能力;曾在著名大学的院(系)、研究所或实验室担任过领导职务者优先;

3.有国际教育背景、国际化的学术视野和引领本学科领域发展的思路;

4.具有良好的个人品质、职业道德、创新意识和团队精神;

5.身体健康;

6.年龄不超过50周岁,特别优秀者可适当放宽;

7.聘期内应全职到校工作,鼓励带领科研团队成员同时应聘(团队成员条件另议)。

三、岗位职责

  1.全面主持学院的教学、科研、学科建设和行政管理工作,制定学院发展战略,把握学科发展方向,着力推进学科建设;

2.负责学院师资队伍建设,制定师资队伍建设规划,大力引进和培育高层次人才,加强创新团队建设,全面提升师资队伍水平;

3.组织学院教师开展学术前沿领域研究,显著提升教师的学术水平和学院的学术影响力;

4.组织专业建设和课程教学质量改革,探索人才培养新模式,培养具有创新能力的优秀人才;

5.实施国际化战略,加强国际合作与交流,积极开展与国外知名大学及科研机构的合作,提高学院的国际化水平。

四、聘期

首聘期限为4年。到期后视工作情况商定是否续聘。

五、待遇

1.提供与受聘者学术业绩、岗位职责相对应的优厚待遇;

2.若为“国家杰出青年基金”获得者、“长江学者”、国家“千人计划”入选者等,则按照西南交通大学高层次人才引进条件提供相应待遇。

Deans Recruitment in Southwest Jiaotong University

 

Founded in 1896, Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), also known as the Imperial Chinese Railway College, Tangshan Jiaotong University and Tangshan Railway Institute, is one among the earliest Chinese institutions of higher education. The University is China’s prestigious university and listed in the state-level group of the “211 Project universities” and the “985 Project Innovation Platform on Rail Transit & Transportation” under the State Government.

To fulfill the demands for developing a top-class multi-disciplinary and research-oriented university with dominant characteristics in traffic and transportation, SWJTU now is inviting applications from domestic and overseas talents to fill the dean vacancies of the following positions.

II Qualifications

1. Doctoral degree (exception for those with outstanding academic and research achievements); full professor or associate professors (tenure) in prestigious foreign universities; significant academic impacts in their research or academic fields.

2. Be familiar with higher education principles and the status higher education all over world; abundant management experience, good coordination ability and interpersonal skills; leadship experience in prestigious universities, institutes or laboratories are preferred.

3. International education background and internationalized academic vision; ability for leading the development of the disciplines.

4. Excellent personality and professional ethic; innovation consciousness; team spirit.

5. Good health.

6. Less than 50 years old (relievable for outstanding candidates).

7. Full-time work at SWJTU as being approved; Application of research teams along the dean positions are encouraged (the treatments for team members will be negotiated separately)

 

III Responsibilities

1. Be in full charge of the teaching, the research, the discipline development, and the administration of the school; be responsible for development strategy, discipline trend, and discipline promotion.

2. Recruitment and cultivation of school faculty, high-level talents; cultivation of research teams and promotion of the academic level of the faculty.

3. Organization of the faculty to conduct frontier research; promotion of the academic level and the impact of the school.

4. Organization of specialty development, course reformation, and other programs for quality promotion; exploration of new modes for talent cultivation, and cultivation of excellent, innovative talents.

5. Implementation of the internationalization strategy, and promotion of international co-operations and exchanges; collaboration activation with prestigious universities and institutes overseas; Enhancement of internationalized level of the school.


 

  IV Term of Employment

The first term of dean position is 4 years. The renewal of dean position will be jointly determined by the work performances in the first term and the agreement between the candidate and SWJTU.

 

V Treatments

1.   Generous remunerations in consistent with the academic achievements and positions.

2. Special treatments for high-level talent candidates (e.g., Distinguished Young Scholars of National Science Foundation, Cheung Kong Scholars,  and experts on the One Thousand Talents Scheme), in accordance with the Conditions for the Recruitment of High Level Talents in SWJTU.


 

VI. Recruitment Procedures
