谢和平院士荣获牛津大学圣艾德蒙院士的学术称号

自2014年以来，牛津大学和四川大学在各层面、各领域成功推进学术合作，实施了四川大学学生在牛津大学正式注册学习的“访问学生项目”、四川大学教授在牛津大学进行科研访学的“客座教授项目”、牛津大学教授在四川大学讲学的“牛津大讲堂项目”、四川大学教师在牛津大学进修的“青年骨干教师培训项目”和“临床医学课程培训项目”，等等。同时，牛津大学和四川大学还深度探讨商榷了双方在四川成都合作建立“牛津四川尖端科研和教学联合中心”的可行性。
谢和平院士拥有中国矿业大学博士学位、德国克劳斯塔尓工业大学荣誉博士学位、香港理工大学荣誉博士学位、英国诺丁汉大学荣誉博士学位，长期深研矿业工程力学的理论和应用，曾经著有6本中英文专著，发表超过200篇学术论文，其中100多篇登载于SCI期刊。
圣艾德蒙学院是牛津大学历史最悠久的学院之一，从1317年就开始有相关的办学文件记录。圣艾德蒙学院来自世界各国的毕业生受惠于学院数百年力行不懈的严谨教学和启发鼓舞，在法律、经济、医学、新闻学、科学、公共服务、艺术等领域出类拔萃、成就非凡。
CHINESE ACADEMIC HONORED
Professor Heping Xie
Professor Heping Xie has been appointed as a St Edmund Fellow by St Edmund Hall in the University of Oxford. This honour is in recognition of his contributions to academic collaboration between the Hall and Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, and the academic benefits he has brought to faculty members and students at both institutions.
Since 2014, St Edmund Hall and Sichuan University have been successfully implementing visiting student programme, visiting fellow programme, distinguished speaker lecture programme, Economics and Public Policy summer course and Academic Medicine summer course, which facilitates academic contacts and catalyses joint research activities. A proposed Oxford Sichuan Centre for Advanced Research and Training (OSART) in Chengdu has also been discussed with the related Oxford University divisions and departments.
Professor Xie is an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and President of Sichuan University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the China University of Mining and Technology, as well as honorary doctorates from Technical University, Clausthal, Germany, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and University of Nottingham. He has long been engaged in the theoretical and applied research of mining engineering mechanics, and has authored 6 books and pubished over 200 papers including 100 of them in the SCI journals.
St Edmund Hall is one of the oldest colleges in the University of Oxford, dated back to 1317. St Edmund Hall graduates around the world have forged successful careers in the fields such as law, economics, medicine, journalism, science, public service and the arts, prepared and inspired by their time at the College.
